🚍 **Dear OCSU Families** — This summer, our principals have been working with Butler’s Bus Service to create a transportation plan that is safe, efficient, and fair for all students.

We know no plan is perfect, but your input will help us start strong on the first day of school! Please take a few minutes to fill out our short survey. If you have students in more than one school, you can fill it out more than once.

On, August 19 at 6pm, OCSU will hold its second Parent-Teacher-Community Association (PTCA) meeting at Lake Region High School. At this meeting we will discuss:
- sister-school meeting structures and recruitment strategies
- representation on the OCSU PTCA
- provide feedback on school/district websites

Long-term Facilities Planning Committee Report: OCSU faces significant challenges that require the attention and cooperation of the community to address: the rising costs of education and the subsequent increases in taxation; the need to provide an excellent education for our students in safe, welcoming, and productive settings; the need to alleviate staffing shortages by providing a safe, sustainable, and enriching work environment; and to house our educational enterprise in school buildings that are efficient, functional, and cost-effective. OCSU welcomes Children’s Literacy Foundation Summer Readers and Book Giveaway! Wednesday July 23rd at 9 am join author Natalie Kinsey-Warnock for a presentation outside Orleans Elementary School. All children attending will choose a free book to take home. Children not attending the OCSU summer program must be accompanied by an adult. Rain date it TBD.
